Hardisty Jones was commissioned to assess the economic benefits that will be generated from the regeneration of Town Quay in Southampton. The proposed development comprises a high-quality 9 storey 128-bedroom hotel, 460 apartments, a new Red Jet passenger terminal, marina, 12,000 sq m of reclaimed land and open space including a publicly accessible boardwalk.

Our assessment provided an indication of the total employment, wages, and gross value added (GVA)  generated by the proposed development. This considered the economic impact of constructing the hotel, apartments, and marina, as well as the ongoing operation of the hotel and commercial units. We also calculated the additional spending in the local economy from new residents and marina users.

Our assessment also qualitatively considered the benefits of the marina and wider economic impacts of the development, including land value uplift, wellbeing impacts and active travel benefits.

Planning permission has now been granted for the regeneration of Town Quay Marina..
