Dorset LEP wanted to give their economic plan a stronger strategic foundation as their existing Strategic Economic Plan (SEP) was heavily focused on key projects that formed Dorset’s first Growth Deal.
We developed a rigorous evidence base for the new economic vision by carrying out an extensive documentary review, targeted data gathering, and a series of consultations with key stakeholders in the public and private sectors. This research was then collated to produce an economic vision . We then conducted a series of workshops and discussions with the client group and other appropriate groups to test the evidence base, findings, and emerging strategy. This collaborative approach ensured strong buy-in for the updated SEP from key stakeholders, which was key for its successful adoption.
HJA’s work has ensured that Dorset LEP now have a stronger strategic foundation to guide future economic development activity, and inform the selection and prioritisation of development projects that will promote economic growth.
