Making the Case for DevelopmentHJA has provided supporting evidence on the employment and economic impacts of four separate proposed hotel developments.
To ensure a comprehensive and robust assessment we looked at the economic impacts in two stages. Firstly we assessed the gross direct impacts, which measure the total economic and employment impacts generated on the sites themselves. Secondly, we analysed the net additional local impacts, which take account of what would have happened in the absence of the developments. This includes other factors such as displacement of activity within the local area, leakage of benefit out of the local area, and multiplier impacts throughout the local economy.
Our evidence accompanied planning applications for the developments, giving clients and planning authorities a clear understanding of the economic and employment impacts of the proposals.
