Barratt Homes needed to demonstrate the economic and community benefits of a development comprising 190 houses in Plympton, Plymouth. On behalf of LRM Planning, HJA provided a headline assessment of what benefits would be derived from the construction and operational phases.
We identified and assessed the potential socio-economic benefits of the development. Firstly, we quantitatively measured the direct impact of the development on the population and labour market, retail expenditure, and Council revenue. Secondly, we qualitatively measured the wider community benefits achieved through s106 contributions to education, health, and leisure, as well as the improvement in local housing, including affordable housing.
Our work provided Barratt Homes with the necessary evidence outlining the potential benefits of the proposed scheme, which acted in support of the successful planning application.
